How I Became a Coach...
I was always the “pudgy” kid with a belly. Growing up, everything in our house revolved around food, so if we weren’t eating we were foraging for snacks or preparing our next meal.

By my mid 40’s I was done with feeling frumpy and sad and entered a national fitness competition called Body-for-LIFE. When I placed as a finalist in 2000, it spun my life in a whole new direction.

The quick physical transformation caught everyone’s attention and I was suddenly inundated with pleas for help to do the same. Within six months I earned my certification as a personal trainer and found myself with dozens of clients and a full-time job standing in my way. In a leap of faith, I left the security of my corporate job of 7 years and never looked back.

For the next 12 years I maintained a waiting list of clients and went on to help thousands of men and women lose weight, regain their health, and live confidently again.

In my 10th year of training, I created a highly successful online coaching program known as LivingFit Online, which allowed me to train people from across the globe.

Even after retiring in 2021 and settling into my second career in banking, I never lost my passion for helping people reach their goals and continued to share my program with friends, family, and co-workers who came to me for guidance.
By 2020 though, I became the one who needed help. Life behind a desk with all the usual unhealthy office food and sedentary high-stress lifestyle had finally caught up with me. My waist had grown an additional 10 inches, I ballooned into a tight size 14, XXL shirts and, worst of all, the scale wouldn’t budge. At 180 I knew I wasn’t just losing my looks, I was losing my health, my confidence, and my life.

It wasn’t until 2021, when a co-worker announced that she was starting the keto diet, that I sprang into action – not to join her – but to try and talk her out of it.
A deep-dive search for the "truth" ended up turning everything I believed about nutrition and health on its head. In my attempt to deliver iron-clad proof to my good friend that keto was "the worst thing she could do to her body" I discovered the complete opposite. In utter amazement and disbelief, I realized that she was right and I was wrong.
I devoted the next 4 months learning to cook delicious foods, ditch sugar, cut out seed and vegetable oils, and avoid anything that came out of a box, bag, restaurant, or wrapper, all just to see what this way of eating could actually do for me.
I began eating good fats, pasture-raised chickens and eggs, grass-fed beef and uncured bacon, and within days became an absolute convert. My foggy brain cleared, I had more energy than I'd had in years, I started sleeping like a baby at night, and my mood evened out from anxious all the time to easy, calm, and cheerful.

In 4 short months I dropped 40 pounds (which seemed to slide off without effort) but it was where it came off that astonished me most. My waist, which had become as wide as my hips, suddenly reappeared without doing any cardio or strengh training. I started to see the muscles in my shoulders, back, and legs again. I somehow became lean and strong without spending even a minute in the gym.
To this day, I am still shocked and amazed at the way my body, mood, and energy changed so quickly and how the sluggishness and brain fog simply melted away, all while eating rich satisfying meals completely guilt free. It seemed too good to be true, but nearly 2 years later everything just keeps getting better and better.
